Audio Visual Installer/Technician

5 day week (Monday - Friday). No weekends or Public Holidays. Some travel will be required to service our clients in regional areas and it is a great way to see North Queensland.

FULL POSITION DESCRIPTION

From your first day on the job, you will be provided with everything you need to develop your skills ranging from tools to support and training from an industry leader.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Installing, configuration and programming of AV hardware projects into multiple industries such as commercial, government, Education & Health
  • AV Integration
  • Web, Audio/Video conferencing applications
  • Installation of Equipment including mounting brackets and equipment structural supports
  • Prepare and assemble conduit and cabling
  • Performing entry level service/installation of low voltage category cabling.
  • Execute works from plans, sketches and photos when necessary to ensure quality installation
  • Running up equipment
  • Calibrate, tune or adjust equipment to specified performance standards
  • Testing of cable equipment and systems upon completion of installation or repair
  • Diagnosing and troubleshoot customer reported problems
  • Collate parts relevant to job allocation
  • Assisting with onsite delivery

Inherent Physical, Mental, Visual and Environmental Demands

  • Safely use ladders and work at heights on mobile elevated work platforms (Scaffolding, scissor lift)
  • Safely use power tools, battery power tools and hand tools to perform designated tasks
  • Good verbal and written English and able to communicate clearly and be understood by team members and clients
  • Follow instructions accurately
  • Driving manual company vehicle and manual light commercial delivery vans
  • Sitting for long lengths of time driving (maximum 9 hours driving at any one point with regular minimum 2 hours rest intervals)
  • Active role - must be physically fit, e.g. kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling and bending when making repairs, often in low places
  • Moderate to heaving lifting
  • Visual - Ability to read, interpret and retain instruction of technical drawings, manuals, memos, general correspondence (emails) etc. specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mathematical Skills - ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Hearing - capacity to actively listen, respond to questions.
  • Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate
  • The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.

Training

  • On the job training from industry leading brands

  • Paid external training to complete Test and Tag Qualification

Notes

  • No Experience Required
  • Must have authority to work in Australia.
  • Ability to pass a Working with Children Check (child safe employer)
  • Ability to obtain National Police Clearance
  • Ability to complete Construction White Card
  • Must have QLD manual drivers licence
  • Fully Covid-19 Vaccinated (or have a valid medical exemption)
  • The applicant must be located in Cairns as operations work out of Cairns Office.
