IT Technician

Open Position Currently Recruiting.  Full time position - 38 hour week (Monday to Friday)
$85,000 - $90,000 on offer based on experience level

Our IT Department is currently seeking an experienced IT Technician with a diverse skillset to join us and assist with providing implementation and support of IT Infrastructure services to new and existing clients.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Assist end-users with software installation, updates, and usage
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware components such as memory, hard drives, and graphics cards
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on computer systems
  • Inventory management of hardware assets
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems
  • Ensure software updates, patches, and security protocols are up to date
  • Assist with software license management
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
  • Collaborate with network administrators to ensure network stability and security
  • Provide training to end-users on software applications and basic IT procedures
  • Create and maintain user guides and documentation
  • Implement security best practices to protect the organization's data and IT infrastructure
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents or breaches
  • Assist remote users with IT issues and troubleshoot connectivity problems
  • Support remote work environments and ensure secure access
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of IT equipment and software
  • Work with vendors to acquire necessary hardware and software licenses
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware and software configurations
  • Document support tickets and resolutions for future reference

Professional Skills and Experience

  • Completed or currently studying a bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline (preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience on a service/ help desk, network, and end user support
  • Certifications and Experience with Microsoft Environments 
  • Knowledge with predicting, preventing, detecting, and responding to Cyber and IT Security threats

  • The applicant must be located in Cairns as operations work out of Cairns Office
  • The preferred candidate will need to undergo a police check, hold already or be willing to secure a Positive Notice Working with Children Blue Card and have authority to work in Australia. Must have QLD Drivers Licence
