Accounts/Bookkeeper

We are looking for an Accounts/Bookkeeper team member who will be the perfect fit in our team.
Full time position - 38 hour week (Monday to Friday) or;
Flexible work arrangement (Monday to Friday) 9am to 4:30pm
Immediate start available to allow for training handover.
Salary will be dependant on the skills experience level of the successful applicant. The position is under the Business Equipment Award 2020 to refer to for classification levels and pay rates.

ABOUT YOU

How Do You Measure Up?

  • Cert. IV in Bookkeeping, or at least 2 years of bookkeeping experience withn a business service environment. Tertiary qualification in accounting preferred.
  • Proved experience in bookkeeping and accounts parable and receivables principle or similar role
  • Adhere to best practices in accounting
  • Attention to details and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Possess a friendly professional phone manner
  • Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information  
  • Strong arithmetic competency 
  • Honest and high degree of personal integrity
  • Capacity to take direction and also use appropriate initiative
  • Proficient computer/IT acumen including the ability to use Microsoft office suites and other software technology

FULL POSITION DESCRIPTION

What You Will Be Doing

  • Processing accounts payable/receivable transactions, client invoicing and supplier payments
  • Bank/credit card reconciliations
  • Preparing purchase orders
  • Handle payment queries
  • Archive financial documentation
  • Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements
  • Preparing journal entries for month end close
  • Analyse and reconcile invoice discrepancies 
  • Undertake and manage accurate data entry, record keeping and filing
  • Manage incoming phone calls
  • Handling collection of all past due accounts
  • Process toner orders/dispatch
  • Monitor and manage several email inboxes to ensure all emails are responded to or distributed within a timely manner 
  • Identify new procedures to improve internal controls
  • Update and maintain asset register
  • Prepare company credit applications
  • Perform other ad-hoc administrative duties and various projects

Notes

  • Must have authority to work in Australia.
  • Ability to obtain National Police Clearance
  • The applicant must be located in Cairns as operations work out of Cairns Office.
